GHACIF EXECUTIVES,AMBASSADORS AND PATRONS.
Dear Ghanaian and Friend of Ghana,
It is my great pleasure to address this august forum once again on the occasion of the celebration and
commemoration of Ghana's 53rd Independence anniversary. 6th March 2010 is 53 years of Freedom,
it is 53 years of Justice, it is 53 years of natural Patriotic orientation.
I join all Ghanaians on planet earth to express endless gratitudes to the father of Ghana's Independence
Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Obetsebi Lamptey, Ofori Atta, Ako Adjei, J.B. Danquah and Edward Akuffo-Ado
who formed the big six for independence. The same go for the ex-service men, activists and our fathers who
started the journey towards Ghana's Independence even before the Big Six.
President Mills and his government have been in office for a little bit over one year now. No matter the
challenges they are facing, we wish the government the best for Ghana.
Accross our growing remittances, donations and numerous investments, Ghanaians in the diaspora have hugely
contributed to the growth and economic survival of our country. Think of the number of Agricultural Equipments,
Taxis and other Commercial vehicles that we have dutied into the country, think of the number of new homes we have built back home.
Think of the number of farms we are entreprising in rural areas. Think of the number of mini factories that we are running in Ghana.
Simply think of the number of Employment we have created and serviced accross all these deeds. Think of the number of times
associations here in the diaspora donate to needy people and organizations in Ghana. Think of the number of times we send money
home to cure the sick. We merit ample recognition and application for Ghana's strategical Economic and Industrial Development.
I request the government's consideration and deliberation on this issue.
The Ghanaian Community in France keep growing and progressing in the right direction. Naturally we show
appreciation to France our host country. I also want to express gratitudes to leaders of Associations,Religion,
Traditions and also Diplomats of the Ghana Embassy who have played enormous rôle towards this end.
A good Ghanaian in France is an additional talent for Ghana.
Since it's creation, GHACIF R.C accross it's website has projected the good deeds of our community onto universal walls.
We have publicised programs, churches and their leaders, traditions and their leaders.Whenever possible we encourage
excelling compatriots within France.Your appreciation greases our elbows frequently.
As a modest mouthpiece we were able to initiate the creation of a Ministry for Diasporean relations during the Kuffour
government. You will all bear with me the importance of such a state organ. It needs to be developed into a bridge of
contribution for Ghanaians outside the country.
GHACIF was not indifferent to NorthGhana Rainflood disaster, we went to their devastated
villages and distributed 2000 Euros to them for the reconstruction of their homes.
To boost the National Health Insurance Scheme, we pioneered donations to this entitity of
basic life survival importance.
Many Ghanaian Artists keep benefiting from invitations by GHACIF to promote their works here
in Europe. Their visits revive the Ghanaianess in us. It also gives a root orientation to our
children who are growing up here.
This year, GHACIF end of year package to the needy benefitted 300 people in Ghana. The same
selected people keep enjoying monthly packages over the year, in turns.
As scheduled for April 2010, a GHACIF major project of tourism « GHANA CULTURAL GALLERY » will be inaugurated
at Domiabra in the Asante-Akim district of Ghana. The Co-Ordinator of the Sigvardson Gallery in Denmark has
embarked on the processus of exchange programs which will lead to the development of tourism in the same district.
200 children benefit daily from a school building which was offered by the outfit of the GHACIFPRESIDENT
to the same township.
GHACIF as an association in France has accepted a proposal of cultural exchanges between Ghana and Europe made
by the same Sigvardson Gallery in Denmark's Co-Ordinator.An officer has been appointed to speed the Set-Up process.
Experience is the fortress of our association. I want to thank all our affilliates and supporters whose
encouragements have brought us accross challenges to this far.
With other Ghanaian platforms in France and in the diaspora and God's help we shall keep up our patriotism
and solidarity towards our compatriots and our country.
On this Independence day, let us raise our Freedom symbol high.
Let us give substance to our colonial emancipation.
The building of Ghana needs extra CONCRETE.
Truly, after these 53 years, Ghanaians in the diaspora should mix and provide it.
I wish you all a happy celebration.
Gyina Pintiin Na Boa Ghana.
Long live Ghana
Vive la France
Long live all Ghanaian Communities.
GOD BLESS YOU
(On behalf of the Ghanaian Community in France R.C.GHACIF)
Hon. OSEI MENSAH MICHAEL
