Jake Kwaku Yirenkyi Anderson the Paris-based award winning photographer, has carried Ghana's Gold and Kente to the City of Toulouse. The opening ceremony of the Exhibition, which was held at the "Maison des Association", was very colourful. We can only be proud of Sankofa Association and its President Alfred Ohene-Akonor, the host and organizers of the Exhibition.
Mr. Makengo, deputy mayor in charge of culture and diversity, represented the Mairie de Toulouse whilst Hon Osei Mensah travelled from Paris to represent the Ghanaian Community in France. R.C. Michele Akua of Batabi Akwaaba Association, a Ghanaian NGO represented Bordeaux. All local Royals and other high personalities of the different Ghanaian associations and churches of Toulouse were present to boost Ghana's image 6000km away from home.
In his opening speech, President Ohene-Akonnor thanked the public for honouring his invitation. Mr. Makengo congratulated Sankofa for its rapid progress and dynamism whilst Hon. Osei Mensah talked about the universal nature of the Exhibition with reference to the world-known Airbus industry in Toulouse. Jake, the star of the occasion, took the public on an historic tour by giving an in-depth and captivating explanation of each of the photos displayed.
