Lennox's Biography

Lennox's Biography

On the 5th day of September somewhere in the 70's a bouncing baby boy landed in Accra, Ghana from heaven with a mission. It was music with a message to the masses. Lennox grew up in Burma Camp before moving to Teshie a suburb of Accra in 1980. Around that same time his father Mark left the Ghana Armed Forces for a trip to Europe in a search for greener pastures leaving the 3 children under the care of Sweet Mama Comfort. The three (Charity, Miller and Lennox) had to grow up under difficult conditions striving hard to survive . In 1987 he gained admission to Ada Secondary School where he received his GCE O Level Certificate after 5 years of study. It was in Adasco that his real talent for music started showing. Not forgetting that at the Primary Level he learnt to play the flute himself after being refused entry by Papa Yankson into his class. One time upon visiting the mother who was a teacher at the Kotoka Primary school, Lennox couldn't resist the temptation of stealing a small guitar in the classroom to play songs like Anwanwa do ben ni meaning what a wonderful love in Ashanti.
In 1990 when Lennox started learning to play the piano little did he know that it would bring him this far into music. Around that same time he gave his life to Christ permitting him to put to practice what he was learning on the piano. In the piano class was an old friend Malike Nyamador. He recalls that because there was only 1 school piano available, he had only 12 mins per week to practice. Finally his father who was then in France after a very long hunger strike bought him his first Synthesizer Yamaha Portatone. By the time he finished his A level at the Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary School, Lennox was sailing in great heights as far as music is concerned. After his national service he gained admission in to the prestigious Ghana Films Recording Studio working alongside with people like Mr Kwakye, Kwaku Boateng etc.
He gained admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in September 1996 where he pursued Geography and Economics. But in reality the feeling was like doing something cos u got to do it. His real call was music. After 3 years of study he left the shores of Ghana for France to meet his daddy. He got married to his lovely wife Philomena 14th July 2002 and the Lord has blessed them with two boys Chris Gyan and Lennox Asabere Jr.. 'We are believing God for a girl on the next trip' both of them affirmed at the time of writing this script.
