GHANA CULTURAL MUSEUM INAUGURATED
Ghacifnews wish to inform the general public that, at long last
the GHANA CULTURAL GALLERY which was expected to open
this year 2010 has been successfully inaugurated at Asante Akim
Domeabra in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The Sod Cutting was made by Omanhene Nana Afoakwa Frimpong.
Among personalities present at the climax ceremony were Hon. Osei Bonsu
(Municipal Chief Executive of Asante Akim North) and Hon Anyimadu (Member of
Parliament for Asante-Akim and successor of Baah Wiredu).Musician Obour later
congratulated the GHACIFPRESIDENT and pledged to advertise the MUSEUM.
Hon. Osei Mensah Michael(GHACIFPRESIDENT) financed the project in it's entirety.
Special regards to Tabi Timbers for providing free wood for the project.
In his public address, Hon. Osei Mensah told Ghanaians that, this Museum is one of
the contribution of his Hon. Osei Mensah FOUNDATION, towards the development of Ghana.
He recalled that, the same foundation which he has partnered with GHACIF, has offered a school
building to the Asante-Akim people, Needy people receive monthly and yearly relief
packages from the FOUNDATION,several local associations receives aid materials from the
foundation. The Foundation has also financed several Ghanaian artisans from going bankrupt.
He emphasized that, this project in the first stead is an Asset for all Ghanaians. It will
be on the Ghana tourist map and therefore an additional beauty and reason to visit and tour Ghana.
He added that this Museum is the first of it's kind in a Rural area and among the few in Ghana. It remains
his hope that it becomes a way forward for other great things in the country especially from Ghanaians
in the Diaspora.
As at today the MUSEUM is showcasing pictures and objects of diverse Ghanaian culture.Majoity of the pictures
are from the works of Photographer J.Y. Anderson. France is the first foreign country which has found a place in
the MUSEUM. The project is ongoing and we hope to enrich it with all opportunities.The MCE has had a meeting
on the project with the Ministry of Tourism.The government will be involved in the project so as to facilitate it's running.
Domeabra is 9 miles from Konongo on the major Accra-Kumasi road. Every Ghanaian and Non Ghanaian is
invited to Patronize this project and make it great for all.
