NANA SERWAA FRIMPOMAA 1 A QUEEN MOTHER FOR OPUNIASE"
The Chief of Opuniase Nana Opuni Dua Ware 1 and his elders wish to announce to the
general public that, a Queen mother has been enstooled for Opuniase. Her stool name is Nana Serwaa Frimpomaa. In private life, she is known as Ms Gladys OSEI. Nana Serwaa Frimpomaa, likewise her chief, lives in France. She happens to be the 1st
Ghanaian woman taxi driver in France. She also represents the Laughing Cow cheese brand in several countries of Africa. She is blessed with three daughters and seven grand children.
In a public address Nana Opuni Dua Ware 1 said that he enstooled Nana Serwaa Frimpomaa to fulfill the traditional leadership of the town of which he has the task to be the 1st Chief to be officially enstooled. He said, to be a pioneer chief of a town is a big responsibility. He therefore needed a queen mother who will use her dynamism to help him create a way forward. He found that potential in Nana Serwah Frimpomaa. In an exclusive interview with TV3, Ghana Television Services, the newly enstooled queen
promised to shoulder her Chief and across her contributions, shed lights on this town which happens to be among the first to be located on geographical maps of Ghana. Her vision is big and she has already nicknamed Opuniase " Asante-Akim Akesiemu".
A Town Planning Committee has been created under the Chairmanship of Lt-Col (rtd) Opuni-Mensah (former Chief Executive of the Kumasi City Council).. Under the initiative of Nana Serwaa Frimpongmaa a project of affordable homes to be constructed by Habitat for Humanity is in the pipeline. It has already received the approval of Nana Opuni Dua Ware 1 and Domeabra Omanhene, Nana Afoakwa Frimpong.
Many have congratulated the Opuniase Dynasty for this rapid fulfillment. The www.opuniase.com editorial board, is proud to exist as a first website for a town in the Asante-Akim district.
